Bozoian Group Architects was selected to provide conceptual design and cost estimating for the $6 million renovation of the Vadalabene Center. Southern Illinois University Edwardsville seeks to add to and modify the recreational facility to better utilize the space.

Bozoian Group will be working with SIUE to determine the best design solutions to accommodate the many activities taking place at the Vadalabene Center. New wood performance flooring will replace the existing floor. A new mezzanine level will be constructed to provide program space for recreation and sports. The area under the mezzanines will be renovated to provide offices for the athletics staff and the Department of Kinesiology and Health Education. Renovations will also add classroom and storage space and expand restroom facilities. New additions include retractable bleachers, to be located at both levels, and a running track and concession area.

Design services were completed in Spring 2008 and construction is scheduled for completion in December 2008.
