FIELD MAINTENANCE SHOPS (FMS) ADDITION

Bozoian Group was awarded the design and construction phase services for this 3,300 square foot addition necessary for continued maintenance of vehicles and equipment in support of the 205th Military Police Battalion.

This Federally funded project includes a new work bay with a new 15-ton crane/lifting device.  Overhead doors at the east and west ends of the existing FMS were included in the design, as well as a new walk-through doorway between the new addition and existing facility for easy access to all work areas.

The Bozoian team evaluated the building systems using a Present Value Life Cycle Cost analysis.  Once the parameters were determined and the size was verified to be adequate, the existing heating and electrical distribution systems were extended into the new area.  Other existing systems, such as the lubrication system, exhaust system, air lines and water lines were also extended into the new work bay.  A trench drain was designed at the overhead doors and connections made into the existing oil/grease interceptor. The addition will have new, energy efficient lighting fixtures.

Bozoian Group provided concept, preliminary and final design services, cost estimating, and will perform contract administration services during construction.

The construction budget is $700,000, and the bid letting is scheduled for April, 2011.
