TRUMAN STATE UNIVERSITY
VARIOUS RESIDENCE HALL RENOVATIONS
KIRKSVILLE, MISSOURI
Bozoian Group designed the renovation for a multi-cultural student study area in the lower level of Adair Hall. Over the years, the space had been used for storage and miscellaneous activities, which rendered the space unusable. The new space was designed to contain a multi-purpose room for meetings, workshops, programs and various social gatherings, such as Orientation and Rites of Passage programs. The renovation also includes an office, an ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) compliant restroom, mechanical room and a workspace. Built-in, individual storage units surround the workspace. Each storage unit is accessible only to a specific cultural organization where students can house their program and organizational materials. The renovation was completed in the spring of 2001.
Bozoian Group was also selected to renovate the common areas of Missouri and Dobson Residence Halls at Truman State University. The renovation work consisted of nine floors comprised of corridors, lounges and private study rooms. Each space received new wall and floor finishes.
Other services provided for Truman State University include window replacement design at Fair and Campbell Residence Halls. The residence halls, originally constructed in the late 1950s, contained the original windows, which had been modified over the years. The criteria for the design and selection of the new windows included aesthetics, natural ventilation, security and compliance with building codes for egress requirements.
